Edited by Paul R. Fridlund
This book is
comprised of research and information found on virus diseases that affect apple,
pear, and quince fruits. It includes descriptions and characteristics of
diseases, viruslike diseases, and noninfectious problems (air pollution injury,
genetic disorders, herbicide damage, and nutritional disorders). Virus diseases
of apple and pear are organized and illustrated according to leaf symptoms, and
stem and bark symptoms. Other sections discuss diseases of quince, methods for
detecting infection, development of virus-free pome fruits, and control methods.
